Hi. My name is Patience. Managing Editor at Raincemba Publishing Professionals. I’m here to talk about Publishing.
I discovered that people are not familiar with what publishing is and decided to write on it. I have spent years trying to figure out what to blog about and never seemed to find the perfect subject except for my writing. It also took me years to get the conviction of starting my own publishing company. Since I have finally registered and launched Raincemba Publishing Professionals, there is no other perfect time for me to start blogging about publishing.
Someone may be wondering as to why I decided to go back to the grassroots and launch my blog with the basics of Publishing. This is because as we had been doing a bit of advertising in order to get a few publishing consultancy gigs to kick start the business, we were encountered by several questions as to what exactly is Publishing?
To Publish simply means to get it out there and make known. Then what is book publishing. Book Publishing is the process of getting an author‘s manuscript into the hands of a reader, by materialising it – giving it form and coherence, as a book. The author‘s manuscript is either solicited (the publisher asks them to write it) or unsolicited (the author writes it, then shops for a publisher).
There is the basic definition of Publishing and I hope it answers the general question that we all had.
